About the Director

Courtney McCaleb

- Assistant Band Director / Orchestra Director

Miss McCaleb is in her third year as director of the Westland High School Orchestra. She is a graduate of Capital University's Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education. She is a member of the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA), Sigma Alpha Iota (professional music fraternity), and Tau Beta Sigma (music service sorority).

Under the direction of Miss McCaleb, Westland’s Orchestra earned excellent ratings at the Ohio Music Education District Competition.

Miss McCaleb currently performs with the Grove City Community Winds. While attending Capital University, she performed with the Capital University Clarinet Choir, The After Hours Clarinet Quartet, Wind Symphony, Choral Union and Symphonic Winds. The Symphonic Winds was invited and played in the Chayi City International Band Festival in Taiwan in 2003. In 2004, Symphonic Winds performed and recorded with the Boston Brass, performed for the American School Band Directors Association Conference (ASBDA) and performed at the Ohio Music Education Association Conference (OMEA) in 2004.

Miss McCaleb is a graduate of Westland High School. She was a member of the band and the orchestra she now directs. She lives in Canal Winchester with her sisters, Nichole and Melissa, and her dog, Rusty.
