About the Director |
Jeffrey Rone- Director of Choirs
Mr. Rone is in his fifth year as the director of Westland High School Vocal Music Department. He is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Music and Vocal Performance. He is a member of the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) and the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA).
Under the direction of Mr. Rone, Westland choirs have earned several good and superior ratings at the Ohio Music Education Association Adjudicated Events. Westland Vocal Music program has grown from 84 students in August 2004 to over 160 students currently.
From 2002 to 2007 Mr. Rone served as the Director of Music at Maize Manor United Methodist Church where he directed the Chancel Choir, the Bell Choir and the Contemporary Praise Team.
Mr. Rone has performed with fourteen choral groups traveling to seven different states and six different countries. Recording credits include choral recordings and radio commercial jingles. His musical Theatre highlights: Tevye, in Fiddler on the Roof; Jesus in Godspell; Mr. Simpson, in Tommy; Charlie, in Brigadoon; Ike, in Sweet Betsy from Pike; Edgar Beane, in Titanic The Musical; and Dr. Craven in The Secret Garden.
